WORLD YOUTH DAY GIFT VOUCHER
World Youth Day Sydney 2008 (WYD08) has developed a WYD08 Gift Voucher to provide a way for parents, grandparents, teachers and friends to help young relatives or friends attend WYD08.
The gift of the WYD08 experience will be unforgettable: it will mark a spiritual rejuvenation of many young Catholics and Christians as well as the Australian Catholic Church. The voucher can fund all or part of the pilgrim registration fee to attend the events held from 15-20 July 2008.
The top tier registration for an Australian pilgrim is Package A ($395) for the entire week and includes accommodation, free public transport, all meals, a pilgrim backpack chockful of items, priority access to events and emergency cover. Sydneysiders can purchase Package B ($335) that excludes accommodation. Catholic Education Office Sydney systemic school students (16 and over) can apply for a subsidy of $185 meaning each student pays $150.

Join Sydney in welcoming Pope Benedict
Hundreds of thousands of people will gather on and around Sydney harbour to welcome the Holy Father to Sydney for WYD08 in the afternoon of Thursday 17 July – and we want you to be one of them! This is your chance to welcome the Holy Father to Sydney as he makes his voyage on the harbour. Vantage points will be published soon, but you should start planning to come into the city via public transport that day to be part of this historic event.
With this visit, Australia will become only the third country (behind Turkey and the US) to be visited by the three modern travelling Popes – Benedict, John Paul II and Paul VI.
After travelling down the harbour aboard his Captain Cook Cruise vessel, the Pope will disembark at Barangaroo to address the crowd of pilgrims before continuing through the streets of Sydney in his Popemobile. Get a group together and get in early to secure your vantage point.
